Quantum Enhanced Sensing with Levitated Systems

IQLev is a European multi-PI project aimed at developing inertial sensing (acceleration, rotation) based on levitated objects. Inertial sensing is of central importance for navigation, positioning and gravimetry/seismology. In this project we will use a levitated particle in a miniature vacuum system as an inertial sensor. This sensing platform will be tested in collaboration with industrial partners and benchmarked according to international standards.

We are looking for applicants who are intrigued by the challenge of turning fundamental science into practical applications. Experience in laser physics, electronics and measurement techniques is favorable.
